Rhonda Chambers is a lifelong
Methodist. Rhonda has facilitated women’s Bible studies, taught preschool, served as a founding member of the ladies’ Circle of Light, a UMW Officer, and President. She has led Sunday School classes and served on multiple local church committees. She was also a founding board member of the Chapel Hill Children’s School. Rhonda has volunteered in the local community, public schools, and at a local hospital. Her involvement with women’s groups such as First Friday Women and NETC Aggie Moms Club reflects her passion for service.
Rhonda has served in other capacities such as Habitat for Humanity, Snowball Express (Gary Sinise Foundation), and the Soldier Box Ministry; also with programs such as Marriage Mentors, Project Graduation, Odyssey of the Mind, and Destination Imagination. Rhonda trained their family dog as an Animal Assisted Therapy dog so they could volunteer at Baylor’s Pediatric Physical Therapy department each week.
Rhonda and her husband, Terry, have been happily married for 38 years. They have two grown children and five grandchildren. Before college monopolized her time, Rhonda enjoyed hiking, water sports, photography, quilting, and baking. At the age of 50, God called Rhonda into the ministry. She received a Bachelor’s in Religion at TCU, then recently finished her Master of Divinity at SMU. Rhonda believes that everyone is called to love God and one another. Her favorite way to do that is by extending hospitality and connecting with people – building relationships that draw people closer to others and to the Lord.
